Since the 1900's record player companies have been making the claim the U.S. Public has a short attention span and a music performer would have to promote themselves endlessley.
In 1959 this idea reached a new hight with rock and roll and Buddy Holly who after taking advice from the head of the music company he signed on with died in a plane crash on a Winter Tour.
The singers of La La Bamba died also in a plane crash perhaps also after being told the same
The public while aware of the music and the tragic plane crashes would also have interest in sports and politics the second of which the public is also accused of having a short attention span.
The span is long enough to remember each President is worse than the next.
If the public desires things like socialist -environmentalist ideas plus United Nations charter or world constitutions as computer programs to stop wars it is no fault of theirs they have not been heard.
This brings a person to the point that in the film Baseketball a film involving a combination of basketball and baseball a character told the main players of this game that the public had an attention span measured in nano seconds. The film was made in the 1980's but people still remember Nixon Water Gate, and The Vietnam War and the massive opposition to it do they not?
